Europa League: Celtic boss shares injury update on Iheanacho ahead Roma clash
Kelechi Iheanacho is edging closer to a return to action following his spell on the sidelines with injury.
Iheanacho has yet to make an appearance for the Hoops since sustaining a hamstring injury in the UEFA Europa League clash with Sturm Graz in October.
The Nigerian recently returned to training and was an unused substitute in Celtic’s 2-1 defeat to Hearts last weekend.
Nancy said the forward will be eased back into action gradually.
“He has trained well. After that, he needs minutes. It has been a long time, two months since he really played,” he was quoted by the Daily Record.
“The way we work the players who have not played regularly we try to get them through physical work to get back into the rhythm.”
The 29-year-old is expected to feature in tonight’s UEFA Europa League clash with AS Roma.
Iheanacho joined Celtic Park on a free transfer in the summer.
