Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has issued a public apology to her colleague, Kemity, for missing her recent event.

Sharing a message on Instagram, Debbie explained that she had intended to attend but was held back by personal responsibilities at home, particularly matters concerning her mother.

She acknowledged that this wasn’t the first time she had promised to attend an event and ended up unable to make it, which made her absence even more upsetting.

Debbie admitted that she woke up feeling uneasy about not being there and reflected on why missing the event affected her so much.

She had genuinely hoped to be present this year and even reassured herself that she wouldn’t miss it, yet circumstances prevented her from attending.

Feeling the weight of her disappointment, Debbie decided to apologize publicly. She also noted that previous absences were due to unforeseen situations, which added to her sense of guilt over missing the latest event.

She wrote: “I was supposed to be somewhere yesterday, but couldn’t because of my mother’s duty. I have been feeling bad about it till this morning. I woke up with a mood swing.

“I am searching my heart about why I am feeling this way, and I realised that it’s because I couldn’t make it to that event yesterday, despite having planned and sworn to attend it this year.

“I Am So Sorry For being Unable To Attend Your Event Again Yesterday, @kemity I Feel Really Heartbroken About This Because I Am A Fan Of Your Craft, And I Know You Appreciate Me Too… This isn’t The First Nor the second time you will invite me; situations then affected my coming.

“That I swore and Planned That This Year, I Must Be There! But, Again!! Please, I am sorry for not honouring the invitation by attending. It Really Hurts Me, Hence Why I Am Publicly Writing This.
