Fubara’s defection personal, he spoke for himself – University Don, Wokocha

A Professor of Public Law, Rivers State University, Ritchard Wokocha, has described as personal the defection of the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Featuring in a an interview on ‘Sunrise Daily’, a programme on Channels Television monitored by Waploaded on Wednesday, Prof Wokocha said Fubara’s defection address sounds very personal.

According to him, the governor spoke for himself and his followers.

“The words suggest personal decisions, and again, remember we are talking about politics and individuals take their decisions and respect the decision of others.

“So remember that the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, is still in the PDP, so it will be somewhat inappropriate for him to drag in the minister who has not said, I have moved from PDP to APC.

“So I think he spoke for himself and his followers in the same manner. The Assembly members who recently defected also spoke for themselves. So it’s politics and you have to respect individual decisions.

“My thinking is that he chose his words to indicate or signify his personal decision, and for him and his followers,” the university don said.
