Champions League: Real Madrid facing defensive crisis ahead of Man City clash

Real Madrid could be facing a defensive crisis, as they prepare to play Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Eder Militao became the latest centre-back to get injured, as he limped off during the first half of their 2-0 defeat to Celta Vigo on Sunday.

Militao pulled up after a last-ditch tackle and had to be assisted by two members of Madrid’s medical staff as he went off.

The Brazilian defender was then replaced by Antonio Rudiger in the 24th minute.

Madrid host City in the Champions League, before league fixtures against Alavés and Sevilla before Christmas.

Xabi Alonso is also currently without centre-backs Dean Huijsen and David Alaba.

Right-backs Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold are both injured, and left-back Ferland Mendy is unavailable.
