FUTMINNA SUG warns students against unauthorized groups

The Student Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, in collaboration with the school management, has released an official warning advising students to beware of unauthorized groups operating within and around the campus.

According to the press release from the Office of the Public Relations Officer, a group identified as “Neolife” has been approaching especially new students with promises of quick-money opportunities and other misleading claims. The SUG emphasized that the group is not recognized by the institution.

The union noted that the activities of such groups have previously been linked to scams, distractions from academics, and a decline in students’ academic performance.

Key Warnings Issued to Students

Students are strongly advised not to attend any meetings, gatherings, or “business opportunities” organized by the unauthorized group.

Those approached by members of the group are urged to walk away immediately.

Any encounter should be reported to the SUG Welfare Director or other SUG Executives through official contact numbers to be provided.

The SUG reminded students that the university already offers approved and beneficial programs for skill acquisition and entrepreneurship, and encouraged them to rely solely on these accredited platforms.

The statement concluded by assuring students that their safety and academic excellence remain the union’s top priority, urging everyone to stay alert, informed, and focused.
