EPL: He’s ready – Maresca names Chelsea player to replace Caicedo
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has revealed that Andrey Santos is ready to replace Moises Caicedo in his squad.
Maresca spoke at his pre-match interview ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League tie with Leeds United on Wednesday night.
Recall that Caicedo is set to serve a three-match ban following his red card against Arsenal on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. The Ecuadorian international was sent off during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with the Gunners.
Caicedo will now miss three Premier League matches: Leeds vs Chelsea, Bournemouth vs Chelsea, and Chelsea vs Everton.
“Andrey Santos is ready to replace Caicedo,” Maresca said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“His position is playing as a no.6, like Moi. He is ready. One that can play good in that position is Josh Acheampong, but we will see.”
