Security forces arrest suspected Abuja kidnap kingpin linked to multiple cases in Bwari
Security forces have arrested a man they described as a notorious kidnapper and key logistics supplier to bandits, identified as Y’au Ibrahim Dauda, widely known as Gwandara 01.
According to security analyst, Zagazola Makama, the suspect was picked up by the Scorpion Squad around 5:40 p.m. on Thursday in Bwari after what officials called actionable intelligence.
Sources told Makama that Dauda had been on the wanted list for his alleged involvement in several coordinated kidnapping operations within the FCT, especially in the Bwari area council, from 2024 to date.
Investigations also linked him to multiple abductions around the Garam area of Tafa local government in Niger State and Bwari, including the kidnapping of a pastor in 2024 at the El-Rufai Estate near the Nigerian Law School, Bwari.
Sources added that efforts are ongoing to track down other fleeing gang members and recover their weapons.
