At least six players in the Real Madrid squad want manager Xabi Alonso to be sacked.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Vinicius Junior is Alonso’s notable detractor, with the Brazilian lashing out after he was substituted during El Clasico last month.

The Madrid squad is however split into two camps over the former Bayer Leverkusen head coach.

Fede Valverde, Brahim Diaz, Rodrygo, Endrick, and Ferland Mendy are all not happy with Alonso’s appointment and want him gone.

Those that are happy with Alonso include summer signings Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras, young Turkish talent Arda Guler, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, and Kylian Mbappe.

Madrid are currently one point clear of Barcelona at the top of LaLiga, after they could only draw 2-2 with Elche on Sunday.
