Life sentence ruling, mockery to judiciary – Nnamdi Kanu’s kinsmen

Natives of Afaraukwu Ibeku in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State, the hometown of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu have rejected the Life Sentence ruling delivered by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court Abuja on their son, Nnamdi Kanu.

The natives who were reacting to the ruling, described the judgement as a mockery and disgrace to the Nigerian judiciary system.

According to them, Kanu, who is a Prince in the land, was judged under a law that is not in existence.

Speaking to WAPLOADED after the ruling, the immediate past President-General of Afaraukwu Ibeku, Ikechukwu Ndubueze said his people did not expect fair ruling or justice from the Federal High Court as according to him, the judgement was already prepared to be against Kanu.

Ndubueze expressed surprise that Justice Omotosho did not look at series of judgements delivered in the past in favour of Nnamdi Kanu, the violent invasion of his family house in Umuahia by the military and the manner he was taken from Kenya.

“The judgement is a disgrace and mockery to the judiciary system of the country. I don’t know how a Judge will pass a judgement under a law that is not in existence.

” I know that the judgement will be appealed and God being in our side, the Life Sentence ruling will be thrown out because our son is innocent”, the former President General, Ikechukwu Ndubueze said.

Meanwhile, Umuahia was very peaceful this evening, with many residents seen discussing the life sentence ruling on Nnamdi Kanu and its possible implementations to the peace in the South East.
