Kebbi school abduction won’t be another Chibok girls saga — Senator Maidoki

Senator Garba Maidoki, representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, has described the abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Maga as a “most unfortunate week” and vowed that it will not become another Chibok-like incident.

In an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday, Maidoki said the attack brought insecurity “right into the middle” of his constituency.

Gunmen stormed Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in the early hour of Monday, November 17, killing the Vice Principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, injuring a school guard, and abducting 25 students.

Maidoki visited the community shortly after the attack to console families and assured them of ongoing efforts to rescue the girls.

“We will work with the government and security agencies to ensure these children are brought back home. This will not be like the Chibok girls,” he said.

The senator noted that security was a primary agenda during his election campaign and promised stronger collaboration with authorities to protect schools in his district.
