Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has issued a warning to her fans and the public over the activities of impersonators using her identity to scam people online.

The movie star shared the caution on her verified Instagram page on Thursday after discovering that some individuals had created fake accounts in her name to advertise a fraudulent job opportunity abroad.

According to Wright, the scammers circulated a post claiming to offer employment in the United Kingdom and attempted to trick unsuspecting victims into sending personal details or money.

She distanced herself completely from the post, stressing that she would never request payment or confidential information from her followers.

She wrote:

“Please be cautious of fake accounts pretending to be me. I never requested money. I will never request personal information or private chat on any other account. This is my main page. A post was made on my account offering a job vacancy in the UK and we realized it was fraudulent. Please disregard. Your safety and trust mean so much to me.”

Bukky Wright, who has built a reputable career spanning over two decades in the Nigerian film industry, assured her supporters that she values their loyalty.

She urged everyone to verify any message or offer supposedly coming from her before responding, to avoid falling victim to online scams.
