ABU notice to prospective corps members on compliance with NERD policy
The management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has released a special bulletin informing all graduating students and prospective corps members about the new Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) policy, recently approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
According to the bulletin, the policy mandates that all graduates must obtain NERD clearance before being processed for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization. The directive takes effect from 2025 Batch “C”, meaning only those with NERD clearance slips will be eligible for NYSC mobilization.
Graduating students are required to visit the NERD portal via https://ncd.gov.ng/onboarding or https://estmat.ncd.gov.ng/ai/enrot-v2.php to complete the preliminary upload of their thesis or project.
Students are also advised to have the following documents ready for the process:
1. A functional email address
2. Soft copy of thesis/project
3. Certificate or statement of result
4. Passport photograph
5. NIN number or slip
The bulletin further instructs that when attestation is requested, graduates should upload a copy of their certificate or statement of result for verification before receiving the upload link for their thesis or project.
ABU noted that NERD clearance slips can also be obtained through the university’s official portal at www.abu.edu.ng or in Room 122, First Floor, Senate Building.
The announcement was signed by the university management and published by the Public Affairs Directorate, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
