“If e reach your turn, wear agbada!”- Sarz Fires Back After Criticism Over Shirtless Album Promo
Nigerian music producer Sarz has responded to online criticism over his recent shirtless promotional photos for his upcoming album.
A social media user, @martinsanumene, had taken to X (formerly Twitter) to accuse the producer of benefiting from “male privilege.” In his post, he claimed that Sarz was “literally selling and promoting his new album with soft porn and subtle nudity,” noting that such behavior would not be tolerated if it came from a female artist.
“Male privileges exist like mad! Anyone who claims otherwise has lost their mind,” the tweet read in part.
Reacting to the criticism, Sarz delivered a cheeky response via his official X handle, @beatsbysarz, saying:
“If e reach your turn, wear agbada!”
His comeback quickly went viral, drawing laughter and mixed reactions from fans. While some defended Sarz’s right to artistic expression, others agreed with the critic, arguing that female artists often face double standards when it comes to self-expression and body representation.
