“Grief Has No Manual” – BBNaija’s Phyna Fires Back at Critics for Clubbing After Sister’s Burial

BBNaija star and former winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has responded to critics who dragged her for partying weeks after her sister’s burial, saying grief has no manual.

Phyna, who lost her sister Ruth Otabor in August and buried her in September, came under fire after a video showed her clubbing with actress Regina Daniels.

While Regina earlier defended her, saying people should stop judging others for how they choose to heal, Phyna has now spoken up on X, writing: “Grief has no manual, and it doesn’t look the same on everyone. Stop telling people how to mourn.”

She wrote:

“Grief has no manual, no fixed face, and no timetable. The fact that I choose to keep living, smiling, or sharing moments does not erase the pain I carry. Respect the process, even if you do not understand it. If you cannot extend compassion, then at least extend silence.”

While many fans rallied around Phyna, praising her strength and honesty, some still criticized her for clubbing just weeks after her sister’s burial, insisting it was “too soon.”
