A young Nigerian supermarket worker has landed an unexpected reward from Afrobeat star Odumodublvck after a video of him flawlessly rapping one of the musician’s tracks went viral.

The clip was first posted by X user @ade_adeayo, who said he discovered the talented cashier while shopping for a bottle of wine on Orchid Road.

“I walked into the supermarket and heard this sales boy passionately performing @Odumodublvck_’s ‘2:02PM In London’ freestyle. I filmed it and shared it online. What amazed me most was that he doesn’t even own a phone, yet he knew every lyric,” Adeayo wrote.

The video quickly spread across social media and eventually reached Odumodublvck himself. According to Adeayo, the artist contacted him directly and asked him to return to the store so he could meet the young performer.

“OD watched the video, called me, and told me to head back to the mall. He spoke with the guy and handed him ₦500,000 to buy a phone. He also gave another ₦500,000 to the supermarket staff, and the whole place erupted in excitement,” Adeayo recounted.

Fans have widely praised Odumodublvck for both spotting genuine talent and showing such remarkable generosity.
