Nigerian rapper Odumodu is preparing to make another major splash in the music scene with his sophomore album, Industry Machine, scheduled for release on October 5.

Anticipation for the project was already high, but excitement skyrocketed when it emerged that both Wizkid and Davido are featured on the record. A preliminary tracklist that recently appeared on streaming platforms shows Wizkid credited on track five and Davido on track six.

For many music lovers, the biggest surprise isn’t just the individual collaborations it’s seeing the two megastars share space on the same body of work. Wizkid and Davido are often portrayed as rivals, making their near back-to-back appearances particularly striking.

Odumodu has previously spoken about the impact Wizkid had on his rise. He recalled being bedridden in Abuja when Wizkid amplified his breakout single “Declan Rice” by sharing it online.

Although some fans criticized Odumodu for not making it onto Wizkid’s latest album Morayo, despite earlier hints of a feature, the rapper has maintained that he remains deeply appreciative of Wizkid’s early support and “would never bite the hand that fed him.”
