“Whoever Gives Me Money First Gets My 2027 Endorsement”- Portable On 2027 Politics
Controversial Nigerian street singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has triggered a buzz with a new political stance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sharing a video on his Instagram page, Portable declared that his support will go to any presidential candidate willing to “drop money” for him.
According to the singer, “My fans, vote whoever you want. It was before I was saying otherwise. I will only vote for anyone who gives me money for the 2027 elections. Whoever drops money first between Peter Obi and Tinubu or PDP is the one I will endorse, and I will make sure my fans vote for him. I can’t go about hungry; vote for your helper.”
Portable explained that whether it is Labour Party’s Peter Obi, President Bola Tinubu, or a candidate from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the first to offer financial support will secure his endorsement and the backing of his followers.
His comment comes months after he voiced disappointment over an encounter with Peter Obi in Benin City, Edo State. At the time, Portable complained that, unlike President Tinubu, Obi “gave him nothing” during their meeting, offering only a handshake even though Obi flew economy while the singer traveled first class.
In July, Portable met Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, later praising him for “changing his life” and assuring fans that Nigerians would fare better under the Tinubu administration.
