FUHSO Governing Council appoints Deputy Vice Chancellors

The 3rd Governing Council of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo ( FUHSO), had on the 15th September 2025, confirmed the appointment of Professor Godwin Friday Okibe as the Deputy Vice Chancellor ( Academic) and Professor Omaile Cecilia Ojabo as Deputy Vice Chancellor ( Administration) of the University during its 3rd Regular meeting. The confirmation followed their earlier selection by the University Senate. 

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 of the First Schedule of the University Law (2022), the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Aba Uba, nominated to the Senate for the appointment of the new DVCs which resulted to the development.

The appointments which was ratified at the Governing Council meeting held at the Otada Campus, reflects FUHSO's commitment to strengthening academic excellence and administrative efficiency in line with its vision of becoming a leading centre for health education and research in Nigeria.

Prof. Okibe, an accomplished scholar and researcher, will provide leadership for academic policy formulation, curriculum development, and research innovation. Professor Ojabo, a distinguished medical practitioner and administrator, will oversee institutional governance, operational management, and staff welfare

Speaking on the appointments, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Francis Aba Uba, stated:

"These appointments come at a crucial time in FUHSO's growth. We are confident that Professors Okibe and Ojabo will bring their wealth of experience to drive excellence in teaching, research, and administration."
