FCMLST ND II direct admission and short-term certificate programmes, 2025/2026

The Federal College of Medical and Laboratory Science Technology wishes to inform all individuals (candidates, parents, and guardians) that the institution has officially commenced National Diploma (ND II) Direct Admission (Recertification) for Medical Laboratory Technologists. Additionally, short-term certificate courses are now available for the following programmes:

1. Applied Immunology and vaccine science

2. Mortuary Science

3. Phlebotomy

Interested candidates are to be guided by the following information:

  • Entry Requirements for Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Recertification

The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply:

  • Candidates who have an Ordinary Diploma (OD) in Medical Laboratory Technology or related courses from any recognized tertiary institution in Nigeria.

  • Candidates with professional certificates (MLT license) who intend to acquire an academic certificate in MLT.

The candidate must possess an OD Certificate, MLT license, and GCE/NECO or WAEC with credits in five (5) subjects: Biology. Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics. These must be obtained within two (2) sittings.

  • Programme Duration: one year

Entry Requirements for Applied Immunology and Vaccine Science

The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply:

  • Candidates with BMLS or BSc in Biomedical Sciences.

  • Candidates with OD or ND in Medical Laboratory Technology with at least 1 year of laboratory/clinical/research experience.

  • Programme Duration: Nine months

The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply:

Entry Requirements for Mortuary Science and Phlebotomy

  • Candidates with BMLS or BSc in Biomedical Sciences.

  • Candidates with OD or ND in Medical Laboratory Technology.

  • A Mortuary Attendant with GCE, NECO, or WAEC with credit in five (5) subjects, which must include Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics, obtained at not more than two (2) sittings, with not less than one year of experience in the job.

N/B. Categories 1 and 2 apply to both courses, while category 3 is exclusive to applicants of Mortuary Science only.

  • Programme Duration: Six months

MODE OF APPLICATION

Eligible candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of #10,000 for the application form to the College as follows:

Select PAY FGN, and then select "WHO TO PAY". Select FCMLST Jos 052102704200 and specify what the payment is for Input the amount, name of payer, payer's phone number, email address, and submit. 

Input Nil on the GIFMIS code

On description, state what the payment is for, then choose a preferred method of payment, e. g., debit card, Bank branch, etc. Pay and generate a receipt of payment with the remita code generated S

NOTE:

All candidates are expected to come with their original credentials, passport photograph, and the application form payment receipt for verification and documentation.

All candidates are requested to report for screening/registration from 1 to 3th October 2025, by 10.00 am prompt at the College Assembly Complex.
