Wizkid Sparks Debate After Splashing Water On Fans At Concert
Nigerian music sensation Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has stirred mixed reactions after his recent stage performance.
The award-winning Afrobeats star headlined the CANEX 2025 Mega Concert in Algeria on September 5, 2025, and also made a surprise appearance at Vybz Kartel’s show at the O2 Arena in London on the same day.
A viral video from one of the events shows Wizkid pausing mid-performance to splash water from a bottle on fans who were cheering and vibing to his music.
While many interpreted the act as a playful way of engaging with the crowd or cooling them down, some online commentators attached a deeper meaning, alleging spiritual undertones.
One viewer commented: “This is spiritual… Most artists do things on stage that have hidden implications.”
Another wrote: “That water is dangerous, it’s evil water.”
This is not the first time Wizkid’s stage antics have drawn attention. Known for his enigmatic aura and bold performances, the singer often blurs the line between artistic expression and personal mystique.
