UNICROSS advertises for the positions of Registrar and Bursar

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Bursar, University of Cross River State.

THE JOB:
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University in all the Campuses. The Bursar is a Principal Officer and a member of the University Management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates for the post of Bursar should possess:
AB.Sc. in accounting with minimum of Second Class Lower (2') or its equivalent or a Master's Degree plus at least fifteen (15) years cognate experience, a considerable part of which must be in a University or Similar institution, In addition, the candidate should possess a recognized professional qualification like ICAN or ANAN. Possession of a relevant higher degree or professional fellowship wil be an added advantage

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must have the drive with a strong passion for delivering results. He should also:

  • Have strong leadership and communication skills

  • Be creative, proactive and self-motivated

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills

  • Have integrity and commitment and

  • Must be computer literate.

TENURE
The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years.

REMUNERATION
The salary of the Bursar is CONTISS 15 with accompanying allowances that apply to Bursars in Nigerian Public Universities and other benefits approved by the Governing Council of the University.

CONDITION AND AGE LIMIT
Candidates should not be below the rank of Deputy Bursar in a University or comparable institution and must not be more than sixty (60) years on assumption of duties.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POST OF REGISTRAR

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the post of Registrar of the University of Cross River State.

DUTIES

The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University. He/she will be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University except with regards to financial matters.

The Registrar is, by virtue of the Office, the Secretary to the Governing Council, the Senate, the Congregation and Convocation of the University. He/she shall, in addition, perform any other duties as may be directed by the Governing Council or the Vice-Chancellor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The candidate(s) for the post of Registrar must possess a minimum of first Degree not lower than Second Class Lower Division (2') from a recognized University with at least 15 years of cognate experience in higher educational Institutions. Possession of higher degree(s), professional qualifications and membership of professional bodies will be an added advantage. Candidates for this position must have served as a Deputy Registrar in the administration of a University for not less than five (5) years. The candidate is also expected to;

  • Be a dynamic University Administrator with strong leadership

  • and communication skills

il. Be a person of proven integrity and excellent interpersonal skills.

ill . Have a grasp of information and communication skills

iv. Be sound physically and mentally to be able to perform effectively on the job.

v. be not more than sixty (60) years on assumption of Duty

TENURE:

The appointment shall be for a single term of five (5) years.

REMUNERATION:

The successful candidate will be entitled to the salary and other conditions of service as applicable to the post of Registrar in Nigerian Public Universities and as may be determined from time to time by Government and Governing Council of the University.
