President Donald Trump has commented on Taylor Swift’s engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce, first with a touch of sarcasm before following up with kinder remarks.

Trump, 79, initially said, “I wish him a lot of luck,” echoing the same tone he once used in 2020 when speaking about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

When asked again during a cabinet meeting, his words softened: “No, I think he’s a great player, I think he’s a great guy. I think that she’s a terrific person. So I wish them a lot of luck.”

Swift, 35, who endorsed then Vice President Kamala Harris during last year’s election over Trump, described Harris as “a steady-handed, gifted leader” who would bring “calm and not chaos.”

The singer confirmed her engagement to Kelce, also 35, with a glossy photo shoot. The images showed the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on one knee before embracing Swift amid an elaborate outdoor floral backdrop.
