“Women, Anchor Peace In God, Not Material Things”- Pastor Dolapo

Nigerian cleric, Pastor Dolapo Adelakun, has urged women to place their peace in God and in self-love, rather than in relationships or material possessions.

In a Facebook post, she explained how the Holy Spirit gave her what she described as a “life lecture” about the importance of relying only on faith in God and love for oneself. The message, she said, became clearer after she visited a psychiatric hospital.

Adelakun narrated that the female ward was overcrowded with women facing mental health challenges tied to marital and family issues. These included failed engagements, infidelity, bereavement, inheritance conflicts, and other family-related crises.

In contrast, she noted that the male ward had only four patients three struggling with drug addiction and one battling a breakdown after losing a well-paying job.

Recalling the divine message she received, Pastor Dolapo wrote:

“I woke up one beautiful morning and the Holy Spirit began to give me a life lecture.

He said, Never OWN anything except these 2 assets Your Faith in God and your love for yourself.

He went on, do not own your children, do not own your husband, do not own your properties.

Do not own anything that can be taken away from you. This is the secret of Peace.”

She added that the lesson hit deeper when she was called to pray for an aunt at a psychiatric hospital, where she saw women of different ages battling mental health crises caused by broken homes and family challenges.

“Aaaaalll of them, I mean all of them were there because of marital and family issues…… her fiancé jilted her, she lost a child, her husband married a second wife, her daughter called her a witch, her husband died prematurely, her father did not include her in the will etc.”

When she later prayed for the men in the ward, she was surprised to find only four patients.

“Only 4 men were in the ward. 3 young ones as a result of ‘igbo’ and the elderly who lost his high paying job.”

Concluding her message, Pastor Dolapo urged women not to tie their identity or happiness to anything that can be taken away.

“Women, please stop holding on to anything apart from your FAITH IN GOD and your LOVE FOR YOURSELF. When every other thing fails, please keep these two.

When you lose your mind, you have lost everything.

The devil will shake everything you are holding on to, so be ready.

Hold on Only to the internal assets … Faith and self-love.”
