Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has shared how her latest collaboration with British-Nigerian rapper Skepta came about in the most unexpected way.

Speaking on BBC Radio 1, Tiwa revealed that she casually reached out to Skepta and was surprised by how quickly things clicked.

“So, ladies, I want to say that it does work sometimes when you slide into that dm. But I did slide into the dm and I was like, hey, big smoke. I didn’t really tell him up front what I wanted. Kind of was just like, I’m in London.
What you doing? He’s like, yo, I’m in the studio. I’m like, oh, cool. So I went over and played him the record, and he loved it. I particularly loved shooting the visuals for this. So if you haven’t seen it, make sure you check it out.” she narrated.

The track, titled “On The Low,” dropped on July 30, 2025, and has been receiving massive love from fans across Nigeria and the UK. Produced by Rymez, the song blends Afrobeats with UK R&B and serves as the second single off her upcoming album This One Is Personal, due for release on August 29.
