Naomi Announces Pregnancy, Gives Up WWE Women’s Title
WWE stars Naomi and Jimmy Uso have announced they are expecting their first child, a surprise that led Naomi to relinquish her Women’s World Championship on Raw.
The 37-year-old broke the news to fans while staying in character, vowing: “I’ll be back in nine months to reclaim my place.”
On Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, Naomi explained she discovered her pregnancy on August 10, despite past fertility struggles, including losing an ovary in 2012 and fibroid surgery in 2017. “On top of being 37 and only having one ovary, we thought that naturally I couldn’t anymore,” she said. “I found out Sunday, called him, and then stressed about having to tell work because of where I am right now as the champion. Of all times.”
Jimmy revealed Naomi initially felt she had let fans down, but she later said: “It’s a lot to process, but I’m happy. Everything is looking good. We’re off to a good start.”
Triple H celebrated the news, writing: “Couldn’t be happier for @TheTrinity_Fatu & Jimmy @WWEUsos! Some things matter more than championships.”
Becky Lynch jokingly teased Naomi as “irresponsible,” referencing her own pregnancy in 2020.
Naomi, who won the title in July, has assured fans she will return stronger after her maternity break.
