Sean Kingston Jailed 3½ Years for $1M Luxury Goods Fraud
American singer Sean Kingston has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for his role in a $1 million fraud scheme involving luxury goods.
The 35-year-old was convicted in March alongside his mother, Janice Eleanor Turner, who last month received a five-year sentence. They were found guilty of conspiracy and multiple counts of wire fraud.
Prosecutors said Kingston used his celebrity status to obtain luxury items — including a bulletproof Escalade, watches, and a 19-foot LED TV — with falsified wire receipts and empty promises of social media promotion.
At sentencing in South Florida, Judge David Leibowitz ordered his immediate remand, rejecting pleas for delayed surrender. Prosecutors described him as a “thief and a conman,” while his lawyer argued he lacked financial discipline.
The case followed a May 2024 SWAT raid on his Fort Lauderdale mansion, where he and his mother were arrested.
