“Lagos Breeds Selfishness”- Odumodublvck Warns Young Artists Against Growing Careers In Lagos

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has stirred conversation with his take on Lagos as a hub for rising musicians.

The Abuja-born artist argued that the city is not the best environment for young talents to nurture their craft. According to him, Lagos breeds a culture of self-interest that could negatively shape an artist’s personality.

In a post shared on his X account, the rapper described Lagos as “the most selfish place to grow,” warning that artists who develop their careers there risk becoming “greedy, selfish, and self-centered packaged beasts.”

Odumodublvck credited his upbringing and career development in Abuja for giving him a unique advantage in the Nigerian music scene.

“That’s why it was easy to break into the industry as ‘The Machine’ that I am,” he wrote. “I’m too real for you all.”

The statement has sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that Lagos can be cutthroat, while others insist the city remains the entertainment capital of Nigeria.
