A woman close to the late entrepreneur Ifesinachi Onyekere, popularly known as Fish Magnet, has recounted their last conversation before he was tragically found near death by the roadside, days after being abducted.

According to her, Fish Magnet called her on Saturday, July 26, and they spoke until 9:00 p.m. The next evening, he was reportedly shot and kidnapped. His abductors later demanded a ransom of ₦10 million to be paid within 20 minutes.

She revealed that his mother managed to raise the money and sent it to the kidnappers. By Monday morning, the family received a call instructing them to pick him up at St. Matthew Catholic Church. He was found in critical condition.

Though he was rushed to the hospital, he sadly didn’t survive. The lady, who described him as the most humble man she had ever met, also recalled how they built his brand together and the dreams he had before his untimely death.

“On Saturday 26th July 2025..you called and we spoke all through till after 9 pm….

“Unknowingly to me that would be the last time I will hear from you…on Sunday 🥹evening by 10pm you were shot in front of the family house.

“Now they didn’t just shot you but carried you away…. Mumsi and Chebe kept calling till 11pm ..when they requested for 10 million naira…and should be submitted in 20 minutes….Before 12pm on Sunday, Mumsi had gathered the money and sent to them…now they called and called and called…this guys didn’t pick till 4am on Monday morning…

“They called Chebe to go and pick you at St Matthew Catholic Church …Just for her & Mumsi to go there and find you close to being dead…. They rushed you to the hospital….oxygen and all…but you left us already!

“Later Monday evening….we found your car at Amobia….. After this people heard cleared your access and Moniepoint.

“You said you wanted to go to Thaind….via what we spoke!!! The brand we built with zero worker, zero support ( Mg_bodybang, fish magnet,MG logistics) just faith and work! Now we have workers everywhere….we talk about our success, progress and productivity ….ifesinachi martins onyekesi 💔.”

“You didn’t keep to what we spoke off!!! Where do I start from? Is it 2019, or 2020 ? Or 2021? Or 2022, is it 2023 when finance became hard and we almost borrowed just so you can do December season??
