Nigerian content creator Kunle Botanical has publicly accused fellow skit maker Kuye Adegoke, popularly known as Egungun of Lagos, of betrayal and backstabbing.

During an interview with media personality Akin Abolade, Kunle expressed his disappointment over a collaborative project he claimed to have created and directed, which allegedly earned Egungun millions of naira without giving him due credit or fair compensation.

According to Kunle, the incident occurred in 2023 when he conceived the idea for a viral skit, handled the scripting and directing, while Egungun merely posted the final video on his social media page. To Kunle’s shock, the content reportedly generated over ₦50 million for Egungun, while he only received ₦20,000 as compensation.

Kunle said,

“He told me the ₦20,000 was just for the stress I went through.”

The content creator also alleged that the betrayal extended beyond money. He accused Egungun, who recently acquired a new car, of ruining his relationship with popular crossdresser Bobrisky.

Fans may recall that Bobrisky once gifted Kunle a car after he tattooed the socialite’s face on his body. However, their relationship soon soured, with Bobrisky labeling Kunle ungrateful.

Kunle now claims that Egungun played a role in the fallout, saying,

“When someone close to you goes behind your back to tarnish your image before your benefactor, it can turn your helper against you. Because of my issue with Egungun, he went ahead to spoil me in front of Bobrisky.”
