“Be Humble”- Deacon Famous Urges Humility Amid Pastor And Gospel Singer Feud
Content creator and church influencer, Awesome Chidiebere, popularly known as Deacon Famous, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing controversy involving a gospel singer and a pastor.
Although he refrained from naming anyone, his remarks appeared to align with the viral dispute between gospel artist Ebuka Songs and Pastor Kiesena Ebiri.
The controversy began after Pastor Ebiri criticised Ebuka Songs for inviting popular streamer Peller to his home. During the visit, Peller reportedly spoke in tongues and delivered prophecies, an act the pastor considered a mockery of God.
Deacon Famous condemned the habit of using the pulpit to respond publicly to personal grievances, particularly during church services. He highlighted the importance of private correction, humility, and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide believers when faced with criticism.
He explained that the inability to accept correction often stems from pride, which can lead to anger and poor decision-making. Drawing from his own experiences, he recounted a time he repeatedly apologised after recognising the harm caused by his words, stressing that admitting faults reflects strength rather than weakness.
The content creator also faulted the gospel singer’s decision to respond from another church pulpit, suggesting it would have been wiser to address the matter privately. He reminded the artist that public criticism and backlash are unavoidable in ministry, citing that even notable figures like Pastor Chris and Apostle Suleman have faced such challenges.
Deacon Famous emphasised that pastors, despite their flaws, hold a sacred position in God’s plan and should be treated with respect. He warned that the singer might have fallen into a trap by reacting publicly and urged him to retrace his steps to prevent further harm to his image and spiritual growth.
He concluded by advising the gospel singer not to be misled by social media followers, noting that online attention is not always sincere. True accountability, he said, is to God rather than to an audience. He urged the artist to embrace restraint, self-control, and humility, reminding him that ministry must be led by divine direction, not emotions.
