Omoni Oboli has opened up about what has kept her marriage to Nnamdi Oboli strong for 24 years, revealing that the key was a decision they made even before exchanging vows in 2000.

In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the actress and filmmaker shared that choosing to stay committed regardless of challenges was what sustained their union over the years.

“Staying married for over two decades… First things first, you have to decide. It’s a decision. From day one, we decided that divorce was not an option even before we got married,” she said.

She also emphasized the role of forgiveness in any successful marriage, noting that most conflicts can be resolved when both partners are willing to let go.

“There’s almost nothing someone can do that you can’t forgive, if you want to forgive. We all have to realise that we’re all sinners,” she added.

Omoni recalled that their first year of marriage was far from easy, especially since they barely knew each other before tying the knot Nnamdi had proposed just two weeks after they met, and they got married only four months later.

“I was young. Till today, I don’t know how I agreed to marry him so quickly. But I know I fell in love with the way my husband loved me,” she shared.
