Yasmine Ashraf Sabri is an Egyptian actress and model who gained fame through her television roles before making a successful transition to the big screen.

She first captured viewers’ attention in the 2013 series Khatawat El Shaytan and solidified her status with her central part in Gabel El Helal (2014).

Early Life and Education

Yasmine Sabri was born on January 21, 1988, in Alexandria, Egypt, and was raised by her mother and grandmother after her parents’ divorce when she was two years old.

Her father, Dr. Ashraf Sabri, practised medicine, while her mother was a competitive swimmer. She completed her secondary education in Alexandria and went on to study mass communications at the American University of Beirut, balancing early acting work with her studies.

Personal Life

Sabri’s marriage to a man named Muhammad in 2012 remained private until she confirmed it in 2015; the couple separated in 2017 after five years together.

In April 2020, she wed Egyptian businessman Ahmed Abu Hashima in a small ceremony necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic; they divorced in May 2022. She has no children and keeps her personal life largely private.

Career

Sabri began her screen career in 2013 with a role in Khatawat El Shaytan (The Devil’s Steps) and followed with a supporting part in Gabel El Helal (Halal Mountain) in 2014. Her film debut came in 2016’s Hell in India, and in 2018, she starred in the hit films Leilat Hana wa Surour (Happiness and Bliss Night) and El Diesel alongside Mohamed Ramadan.

In 2019, she led the Ramadan series “Hekayti” (My Story) and in 2020, headlined “Forsa Tanya” (Second Chance). In addition to acting, Sabri has served as Ambassador of African Women at the Arab-African Conference on Women’s Empowerment (2019) and was the first Arab woman featured in Cartier’s Panthère campaign (2020).
