“Lead with Empathy or Be Forgotten” – Eedris Abdulkareem Warns Nigerian Politicians
Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has urged the country’s political leaders to be more empathetic toward the people if they expect to be remembered kindly after death.
His statement comes in response to the divided opinions surrounding the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to DAILY POST, Buhari died on Sunday in a hospital in the United Kingdom, reportedly after a long battle with leukaemia.
While some of his political associates have been offering tributes, many Nigerians have openly criticized his leadership and legacy.
Former senator Shehu Sani also weighed in via a social media post, appealing to the public to let go of Buhari’s flaws.
“In life, a man is still subject to judgment, but the dead should be allowed to rest. Let his soul find peace,” Sani stated.
Reacting on Monday through his Instagram account, Abdulkareem emphasized the importance of compassion from those in power.
“If you expect sympathy after death, you must first show empathy while alive. Your legacy is the result of your actions. Innalilahi wa innalilahi raji’un,” he wrote.
