Dharni Ng is a Singaporean beatboxer and YouTuber who rose to prominence after winning back-to-back Grand Beatbox Battle World Championships in 2013 and 2014.
Born and raised in Singapore, he first attracted attention by posting educational and performance videos on his YouTube channel, where his innovative techniques and stage presence earned him international acclaim.
His pioneering work has helped establish beatboxing as a recognized art form in his home country while also leading to collaborations and performances alongside global artists such as Lady Gaga and Kanye West.
Early Life and Education
Dharni Ng was born on February 27, 1987, in Singapore. He is the youngest of three children and spent his childhood in a multicultural Singaporean neighbourhood under the care of his mother, Ong Huat Sim, after his father, Ng Kim Swee, passed away at the age of 72 when Dharni was seven years old.
He attended Coral Secondary School before enrolling in Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Design, where he studied visual communication; however, specific years of graduation are not publicly available.
Personal Life
Dharni married Polish actress and YouTuber Weronika Heck after meeting her during his early career years in Warsaw, Poland. The couple has maintained a low public profile regarding their private life, and as of now, they have no children.
Career
Dharni began beatboxing at the age of 15 and busked at open-air venues outside Takashimaya Department Store in Singapore by the time he was 17. Seeking broader artistic opportunities, he relocated to Warsaw, Poland, in 2011, where he joined the talent show “Must Be The Music,” helping a team reach the finals.
His signature combination of vocal percussion and showmanship culminated in his historic first-place finishes in the Showcase category at the Grand Beatbox Battle in both 2013 and 2014, making him the only solo artist to achieve consecutive titles at that event.
Beyond competitions, Dharni built a YouTube following exceeding 9 million subscribers and expanded his reach through collaborations with mainstream musicians, workshops, and judge roles at international beatbox events.
