LAUTECH issues notice on extension of night-reading hours for rain semester exams

The management of the Olusegun Oke Library is pleased to inform you that, in response to the academic needs of students during the Rain Semester Examinations, the night reading period has been officially extended to 5:30 a.m. daily throughout the examination period.

This extension aims to support your preparation and reduce safety concerns associated with early-morning movement outside the campus.

Night Exit Protocol

• A bell will ring at 5:15 a.m. daily to signal the end of night study.

• All students are expected to vacate the library building by 5:30 a.m. without delay.

• Please comply fully with library staff and security personnel during this period.

Important Guidelines for All Users

 Prohibited Items:

• Do not bring in contraband or food items. These attract rodents and other harmful predators, which pose a threat to library collections and facilities.

 No Electrical Equipment

• Personal electrical devices such as rechargeable fans, power banks or extension cords are strictly prohibited.

• Such devices may disrupt the library’s lighting and power systems and pose fire and safety risks.

General Conduct

• Maintain silence, cleanliness, and orderliness at all times.

• Adhere to library rules and cooperate with staff and security officers on duty.

• Respect the space and comfort of fellow readers.

We trust that you will make responsible use of this extended opportunity and continue to uphold the values of diligence, discipline, and respect that define our academic community.

Wishing you the very best in your examinations.
