Club World Cup: Two teams qualify for semi-final

At least two teams have qualified for this year’s FIFA Club World Cup semi-final taking place in the United States.

This follows the conclusion of the quarter-final game played in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The two teams that booked their places in the last-4 are Fluminense and Chelsea.

Fluminense had defeated Al Hilal 2-1 in the quarter-final fixture played on Friday night.

Goals from Matheus Martinelli and Hércules gave the Brazilian club the victory against Al Hilal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea also win by the same scoreline against Palmeiras.

Cole Palmer had given the Blues the lead in the first half but Estêvão equalized in the second half.

However, a late own goal from Agustín Giay ensured Enzo Maresca’s defeated the Brazilian side and progress to the last-4.

The remaining quarter-final fixtures will take place later today.
