Popular comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, also known as AY, has weighed in on the growing drama surrounding legendary singer Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba.

2Baba has recently come under fire for his controversial remarks about his marriage to Annie Idibia. In a viral interview, the singer claimed he felt trapped during the relationship and argued that monogamy isn’t natural for men. His statements triggered a wave of backlash and sparked heated debates across social media.

Amid the uproar, 2Baba issued a public apology to his current partner, Natasha, attempting to calm the storm. However, the gesture didn’t sit well with everyone and failed to halt the criticism.

Reacting to the unfolding drama, AY Makun shared his thoughts on the singer’s apology clip. He said what stood out most was seeing a man who appeared to be acting under pressure. AY emphasized how society conditions men to bottle up their emotions and remain silent in tough times, adding that when they do finally speak out, it often backfires.

“It’s always easy to cast the first stone at the supposed offender. No one pauses to ask him the most human question “Are you okay?” And when they do, it’s rarely without an agenda. No one really cares.

“I just saw a man under duress taking accountability for his actions. Not because he’s perfect, but because he’s human. As men, we’re raised to suffer in silence. Whether we’re right or wrong, we’re told to “man up. Even when we finally speak, it rarely ends well.”
