FULOKOJA announces 6 promoted Professors

The Federal University Lokoja (FULOKOJA) has taken another step forward in its pursuit of academic excellence with the promotion of six scholars to the esteemed rank of Professor. The promotions, recently ratified by the University Governing Council, reflect the institution’s continued commitment to rewarding merit and academic productivity.

Among those elevated is the late Dr. Olanode Timothy Oshadare, posthumously honoured for his valuable scholarly contributions. Others promoted to the professorial cadre include;

1. Prof. Abraham Musa Peter

2. Prof. Alhassan Abdullahi Abdulrahman

3. Prof. Adelamwa Esther Bosede

4. Prof. Zubairu Sikiratu Uhuotu

5. Prof. Kehinde Rotimi

At the 93rd meeting of the Senate of the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, warmly congratulated the new professors and commended their dedication, resilience, and achievements. He urged them not to rest on their laurels but to remain focused on advancing the frontiers of knowledge.

“I beg you in the name of God, do not stop. Keep writing. Keep publishing. Your future starts now,” the Vice-Chancellor stated. “Take a clue from me. I do not consider myself to have arrived. I keep working hard because this is not the bus stop for me," he added.

Professor Akinwumi further encouraged the newly promoted professors to take up mentoring roles, emphasizing that academic growth should be shared and multiplied through the guidance and support of younger colleagues. “As you rise to new heights, take others along. Pick up mentees and groom them to become like you, or even better,” he charged.

The ceremony ended with applause and commendation from distinguished members of Senate. The promotions not only celebrate personal achievements but also underscore FUL’s dedication to building a vibrant and productive academic community grounded in scholarship, mentorship, and institutional service.

Congratulations to the newly promoted Professors!
