Nigerian singer and producer Terry G has responded to public criticism following his recent name change to Terry Gzus, insisting the rebrand is not a sign of decline but rather a reflection of spiritual growth and purpose.

Addressing the backlash, Terry G explained that the name “Gzus” is not a gimmick, but an embodiment of his bold, fearless, and unapologetic identity both musically and personally.

“My career hasn’t fallen off,” he stated. “It has been divinely redirected. This is about purpose, not popularity.”

He emphasized that the rebranding represents an evolution in his artistry and a deeper connection to a higher calling.

Terry G, known for his energetic style and controversial hits, added that this new chapter in his career is grounded in authenticity and inner transformation values he says are more important now than ever.
