Himarsha Venkatsamy was born on February 15, 1984, in Durban, South Africa, to South African parents of South Indian origin. Her mother is Pam Venkatsamy and her father, Chris Venkatsamy, is a clinical psychologist.

She has an older brother, Divashan, and a sister, Terushka, who is also a model and actress. Himarsha attended Westville Girls’ High School and later graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy.

From a young age, she trained in dance and developed an interest in the performing arts, which led her to pursue modeling and acting professionally.

Career

Himarsha Venkatsamy began modeling at age 13 and appeared in numerous local commercials and music videos in South Africa. She was scouted by IMG and moved to India to participate in Lakme Fashion Week 2009, walking for prominent designers such as Tarun Tahiliani and Rohit Bal.

Her career breakthrough came when she won the Kingfisher Calendar Model Hunt in 2010, which significantly boosted her profile in the Indian fashion and entertainment industries.
