UNILORIN VC congratulates newly elected Students' Union President

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected President of the Students' Union on behalf of the university management. This follows the successful completion of the Students' Union elections, which saw the emergence of new members of the Central Executive Committee, Senate, and Faculty representatives.

In an official letter issued from the Vice Chancellor’s Office, Professor Egbewole praised the peaceful transition achieved despite challenges, stating: "This has demonstrated your commitment to peaceful transition in spite of the challenges. I pray God will continue to sustain you and all yours." He also expressed hopes for a productive and glorious tenure for the new student leadership.

As the university prepares for the commencement of examinations on Monday, June 23, 2025, the Vice Chancellor used the medium to wish all students success and a hitch-free exam process. He acknowledged the efforts of the various faculties, Academic Support Services, and other units in ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place.

Reiterating the university’s commitment to maintaining academic integrity, Professor Egbewole emphasized the importance of adhering strictly to examination regulations: "We must follow the rules to the letters as the consequences can be very painful." He cautioned students against entering the examination halls with any outlawed or banned items.

The Vice Chancellor concluded by assuring students of his continued support and praying for a successful examination period across the university.
