Bayer Leverkusen playmaker, Florian Wirtz, will earn a staggering weekly salary when he completes a switch to Liverpool this summer.

Reds boss, Arne Slot, has made Wirtz his number one target as he seeks to bolster his squad ahead of next season.

And a deal for the German playmaker appears to be drawing close.

Liverpool are expected to smash the Premier League transfer record when they eventually land Wirtz as Leverkusen are demanding £120million.

The English champions have offered £100m plus £13m in add-ons.

But the Bundesliga side are insistent on a fee which would eclipse the £115m Chelsea paid Brighton for Moses Caicedo.

According to BILD, the Reds will also pay big for Wirtz’s salary, with the 22-year-old set to sign a five-year contract worth £355,000-a-week.
