On Sunday, June 1, Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham hosted the highly anticipated premiere of her new film Iyalode in Lagos State.

The event was a glamorous affair, drawing a host of celebrities including Odunlade Adekola, Wale Ojo, Ibrahim Chatta, Baba Tee, and the president of the NURTW, MC Oluomo. Attendees embraced the occasion in vibrant, traditional attire, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Popular Fuji musician Wasiu Alabi Pasuma energized the evening with a captivating live performance, entertaining the audience with his signature sound.

One of the standout moments came from actress Mercy Aigbe, who made a grand entrance that captivated everyone’s attention. Reminiscent of billionaire Obi Cubana’s daughter’s wedding spectacle, Mercy arrived in a golden palanquin carried by several men, turning heads as she made her way into the venue.

A humorous moment ensued when Toyin Abraham, visibly surprised, jokingly questioned whether it was her own movie premiere or Mercy’s event.

Iyalode, starring Kehinde Bankole, Bukky Wright, Muyiwa Ademola, Wale Ojo, and Kolawole Ajeyemi, is set to debut in cinemas nationwide on June 6, 2025.
