“The Ideology That Women Cannot Talk or Have Opinions in Marriage is Wrong“ – Woli Arole
Comedian-turned-cleric Woli Arole has taken a strong stand against the harmful misogynistic belief that women should be silent or lack a voice in marriage.
In a recent Instagram post, Arole addressed this flawed mindset, which is deeply embedded in some cultural and societal norms regarding women’s roles within marriage.
He emphasized that suppressing a woman’s voice in the marital relationship is both wrong and detrimental to the health of the partnership.
Arole clarified that the biblical or cultural teaching of submission does not mean that women should be voiceless or intellectually sidelined.
Highlighting the significance of a woman’s input at home, he explained that sometimes, her voice can be essential to resolving difficulties or providing much-needed clarity.
“The ideology that women cannot talk or have opinions in marriage is wrong Men, submission doesn’t mean dumbness; your wife is your help meet. At times, the salvation of the home will be in her mouth,” he wrote.
