Champions League final: Thunder could strike twice for Inter Milan against PSG
On Saturday, the last official football fixture in European club football will be played.
Inter Milan will take on Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the Champions League.
It would be PSG’s second-ever Champions League final appearance after their 2020 defeat to Bayern Munich.
For Inter, they are seeking their fourth title, having last lifted the trophy under Jose Mourinho in 2010.
No doubt, both teams have easily been the best in the competition.
PSG have produced one of the most remarkable revivals within a Champions League campaign.
The Ligue 1 champions did not finish in the top eight and needed playoffs to progress.
But as it stands, Luis Enrique’s men could become the 24th side to win the European Cup and a new name on the trophy for the second time in three seasons, after Manchester City beat Inter in 2023.
The Nerazurri will not like thunder to strike twice.
Inter were fourth in this season’s league phase (W6 D1 L1) before beating Feyenoord (2-0 a, 2-1 h), Bayern Munich (2-1 a, 2-2 h) and Barcelona (3-3 a, 4-3 h aet) in the knockout stage.
“Inter Milan’s campaign can be seen as successful,” Ola Olukole, a Senior Technical Specialist and an Inter Milan fan, tells DAILY POST.
“It’s been a mix of consistency and contentment in the way they play.
