Transfer: Nigerian Arsenal star Oyedeji to leave Emirates after 14 years
Arsenal star of Nigerian descent, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
This would bring to an end his 14-year association with the Gunners.
Now 22 years old, Oyedeji joined Arsenal’s youth setup in 2011 and went on to enjoy an impressive campaign in the Premier League 2.
He scored nine goals and provided six assists in just 13 appearances.
Following his performances, he was called up to the Arsenal senior team, where he played in the UEFA Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb and in the Premier League during Arsenal’s title-challenging campaign.
Despite his progress at the Emirates Stadium, the youngster is expected to leave Arsenal when his contract expires, according to club academy expert Jeorge Bird.
Most recently, the forward turned down a loan move to Swiss side FC Zurich in January.
Arsenal’s injury problems in attack played a role in his decision to stay and provide depth.
He has been linked with Danish side FC Copenhagen.
