3 MCU Movies Lose Release Dates Following Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars Delay

Three MCU movies have now lost their release dates following the recent delays of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, which is now in production, was dated for May 1, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars was then supposed to come out on May 7, 2027. Just yesterday, however, it was announced that both movies are being pushed back: Avengers: Doomsday now arrives on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.

When were the new MCU movies supposed to come out?

Following this announcement, Marvel has officially removed an untitled movie that was supposed to be released on February 13, 2026, from its schedule.

Additionally, two untitled Marvel movies dated for November 6, 2026, and November 5, 2027, have now been updated to untitled Disney movies, meaning they’re no longer connected to the MCU.

While it’s not clear what any of these three MCU movies were going to be, Spider-Man: Brand New Day still has its July 31, 2026, release date at the time of this article’s publication. Many fans have been wondering if that movie will also be pushed back, given that it was originally supposed to come out between Doomsday and Secret Wars and could potentially factor into those movies’ overall plot.

Both Avengers movies are being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers. Official plot details remain under wraps at this time.

The cast of Avengers: Doomsday includes Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paull Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, and Robert Downey Jr. More cast members are expected to be announced at a later date.
