Reacher’s Alan Ritchson to Lead New Adventure Movie From Minecraft Writers

Reacher star Alan Ritchson has officially signed on for the leading role in the upcoming adventure movie titled, Fortune. Further details about its plot are still currently under wraps, but the project is being described as Memento meets Raiders of the Lost Ark. In addition to leading the cast, Ritchson will also serve as a producer.

Who’s involved in Alan Ritchson’s new adventure movie?

Fortune will be written by Neil Widener and Gavin James, based on their own short story. The writing duo recently penned Warner Bros.’ most recent blockbuster adaptation, A Minecraft Movie. The project will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who is no stranger to the adventure genre after previously serving as a producer on high-profile franchises like Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure.

At the moment, Skydance has entered negotations to acquire the rights to the project. It will be executive produced by Andrew Schneider. This marks the latest collaboration between Ritchson and Bruckheimer, after latter previously served as a producer on Guy Ritchie’s 2024 action thriller The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Ritchson will next seen in Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming adaptation of Counting Miracles, based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel of the same name. He is also attached to star in several movie projects such as: the action crime drama Motor City with Shailene Woodley; the action thriller War Machine with Dennis Quaid; the action comedy The Man with the Bag with Awkwafina; and action comedy Playdate with Alan Tudyk and Isla Fisher. Ritchson is currently in production for another action thriller movie titled Runner, which will also star Owen Wilson.
