Ballard Release Date Set for Prime Video’s Maggie Q Bosch Spin-off

Amazon MGM Studios has announced the Ballard release date for the Prime Video debut of the upcoming Bosch spin-off. The show will be led by Maggie Q as Detective Renée Ballard. This marks Q’s first major TV project as the lead after nearly a decade since the short-lived crime drama series Stalker.

When is the Ballard release date?

Ballard is now scheduled to make its debut on Wednesday, July 9 on Prime Video with all ten of its episodes. This comes after a over month since the Titus Welliver-led show Bosch: Legacy had concluded its three-season run on Freevee. Welliver is expected to reprise his role as Harry Bosch for a guest-star appearance in the upcoming movie.

The spin-off is based on Michael Connelly’s Bosch novels. The cast includes John Carroll Lynch, Rebecca Field, Michael Mosley, Amy Hill, Victoria Moroles, Courtney Taylor, Hector Hugo, Noah Bean, Michael Cassidy, and more. The show is executive produced by Connelly, Michael Alaimo, Kendall Sherwood, Trish Hofmann, Henrik Bastin, Melissa Aouate, Jasmine Russ, Jamie Boscardin Martin, Trey Batchelor, and Theresa Snider. It is a production from Amazon MGM Studios.

“It follows Detective Renée Ballard (Q), who is tasked with running the LAPD’s new cold-case unit — a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest caseload in the city,” reads the logline. “Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination. When she uncovers a larger conspiracy during her investigations, she’ll lean on the assistance of her retired ally, Harry Bosch (Welliver), to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life.”
