Small Doctor Expresses Deep Concern Over Rising Substance Abuse Among Youths

Nigerian musician Adekunle Temitope, popularly known as Small Doctor, has voiced his distress over the growing issue of substance abuse, especially among young people in his community.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Penalty hitmaker shared his worries after a recent walk through his neighborhood. He described witnessing disturbing scenes involving young individuals engaging in drug use.

Small Doctor lamented the rising trend and revealed that it deeply troubled him. He also reflected on advice he received six years ago from legendary fuji artist Wasiu Ayinde, who had encouraged him to consider setting up a rehabilitation centre — predicting it would be greatly needed and potentially profitable in the near future.

The singer recalled seeing several young men he once viewed as full of promise now battling addiction, with their futures seemingly derailed by substance abuse.

“Wasiu Ayinde Told Me 6 Years Ago To Establish A Rehabilitation Centre, Stating It Is The New Oil. That Man Saw The Future.

Most Heartbreaking Was When I Arrived My Hood, I Saw Some Promising Guys We Grew Up Together Sleeping While Standing 🤦🏾‍♂️, Some Were Even Making Some Crazy Postures While Sleeping. So Sad 😭.”
